Nearly all of the drawing I've been doing for the last few weeks has been preliminary work on a monster manual I'm working on. And even though my art won't be the final art which shows up in the product, it seems a little wrong to post art for a product that I'll eventually be asking people to pay money for.
However, I've also done some doodling of late which I'm proud of. Most of these are my attempts to imitate pieces by Yoshitaka Amano, one of my favorite artists. I mostly know him from the concept art he's done for games from the Final Fantasy series. His work is highly recommended.

Sorry for the use of lined paper. Didn't really intend to post these when I was doodling them, but they turned out a little better than my drawings normally do.

Grasshopper Head
This is what goes on in my brain.
Pretty happy with this. It will be explained in greater detail in tomorrow's Papers & Pencils post.

Doodles from Today's D&D Games
These are some things I doodled while playing in Courtney's Numenhalla game this morning. And a couple I did while running D&D&LB later that same night. Most of the time when I doodle, I've got some specific piece of anatomy I'm curious to experiment with, and I do a ton of sketches where that piece of anatomy is the focus. Here I did a few different doodles of people opening their lips and exposing their gums, for example.
